Europe is now expecting a refugee wave from Libya, said in an interview for the BNR European Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response.

Europe is now expecting a refugee wave from Libya, said in an interview for the BNR European Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response.

She said there is possibility for a substantial refugee pressure towards Turkey and from there – to Bulgaria.

On the occasion of talks on Libya at the European Commission Kristalina Georgieva said that after the latest events there Brussels starts demonstrating a hardening of its approach to Colonel Gaddafi and his regime.

“We are firm that what happens in Libya is absolutely inadmissible. We have no common subject of talks with Gaddafi when innocent civilians are shot at.

We are all united on the opinion that the situation in Libya in the last few hours has changed and requires exceptional severity on the part of the international community, so that we can demonstrate a firm stand – to help the people who are at the moment in the hands of an irresponsible rule”, European Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva said.
