The coming European Commission Progress Report for Macedonia will be similar to last year's, containing a recommendation for start of accession negotiations, noting achievements, but also areas where more progress is required, Vice Premier for European Affairs Teuta Arifi told journalists on Wednesday.
According to her, the report would give an objective image of the country's reality, adding the importance of accepting the document in well-intentioned and constructive manner.
"We should be satisfied taking into account the retained recommendation, noted success, and the need to work on improving the situation. We should not go into Euro-scepticism, where the role of media is very important", said Vice Premier Arifi.
The report should give positive assessment in the section of meeting political criteria and harmonization of the country's legislation with the EU law. Remarks are expected in the part of judiciary and administration reforms, pointing out the necessity for acceleration of reform processes and implementation of adopted laws.
"Pertaining to media, the report welcomes the established dialogue between the Government and the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM). The Government has already established a working group including Minister of Interior Gordana Jankuloska and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Spiro Ristovski, whereas the AJM is set to nominate four representatives", added Arifi.
