Construction of the Morina-Merdare motorway through Kosovo will cost the government in Pristina around EUR one billion, and the works will last until the end of 2015, states a report that the Kosovo Economy Ministry prepared for the European Commission.

The document, parts of which have been presented by the media in Kosovo, includes the specific figures related to the construction of the motorway from the border with Albania to the administrative border with Serbia.

According to the report which Pristina prepared for the European Commission, the road will cost about EUR 884 million, while another 90 million will be spent on the expropriation.

The construction cost will have to be higher due to the engagement of an international company for supervision of works on the motorway, and the tender will cost about EUR 10 million.

During the tender for the construction of the motorway the estimated price amounted to EUR 659 million, and after the contractor has been selected it was announced that the cost will be around EUR 700 million.
