Acting Kosovo President and Kosovo Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi said on Oct. 5 that representatives of Kosovo's institutions support holding talks between Belgrade and Pristina on technical issues after the upcoming general elections in Kosovo.
"It is in the interest of politics, but also of those who will supervise the talks, for the talks to take place when Kosovo has consolidated institutions, that is, institutions that will come out of the new free and just election," said Krasniqi.
Other representatives of Kosovo's institutions also believe that the election should be held before the commencement of talks with Serbia, even though they state that Kosovo is politically ready to negotiate.
Pristina is expected to reach a decision on the date of the election by the end of the week.
The election will probably be held between mid February and the first half of March, 2011.
