The exhibition presents some 30 years of artistic work of the Serbian Photo Association through 99 original works by 50 eminent photographers, including Brаnibor Debeljković, Ivo Eterović, Tomislаv Peternek, Đorđe Bukilicа and many others.

The exhibition “Pearls of Serbian Photography” opened on 4 October in the Hall of the National Bank of Serbia’s building in Slavija Square.

The exhibition, consisting of photographs from the Archives of the Serbian Photo Association and spanning the period from the early ‘50s until late ‘80s, was opened by Mr Branislav Brkić, President of the Photo Association.

The exhibition presents some 30 years of artistic work of the Serbian Photo Association through 99 original works by 50 eminent photographers, including Brаnibor Debeljković, Ivo Eterović, Tomislаv Peternek, Đorđe Bukilicа and many others.

As indicated by the organisers, the exhibition does not aspire to summarise this period of Serbian photography, but to present for the first time to the Belgrade audience these original works and allow them an insight into the social and domestic life of past times, immortalised in these photographs.

As the Nobel Prize winner Ivo Andrić once wrote, an inquisitive spectator should pass through the exhibition as “through a well-organised street where house façades are interconnected and where everything feels like a rather well planned and unified whole”.

The exhibition will be open on work days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m, until the end of October. Entrance is free.
