Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic said Monday that there are no head hunters in Serbia and that the state will not allow anyone to search for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) fugitives in the Serbian territory.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic said Monday that there are no head hunters in Serbia and that the state will not allow anyone to search for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) fugitives in the Serbian territory.

At the Monday session of the European Integration Committee of the Serbian parliament, Djelic said that only the Serbian army and police have the monopoly of force and that no other party is entitled to interfere with their work.

Earlier at the session, Serbian Radical Party MP Momir Markovic claimed that the American company Blackwater, known for its shadow army operations in Iraq, has sent its head hunters to Serbia.

"The ICTY issue should be viewed as the step towards lasting reconciliation in the region, and Serbia, as the region's biggest country, should lead the way," Djelic underlined.

Of the 46 ICTY indictees, 44 have either turned themselves in or have been extradited by Serbia, with only Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic still remaining at large. Last week, the Serbian government raised the rewards for information on the hiding place of Mladic and Hadzic to EUR 10 million and one million, respectively.
