At the session held on 24 February, the Government of Serbia adopted a decision to found the University of Defense in Belgrade.

By the edict of the President of Serbia, Major General Miodrag Jevtic, MD is appointed as the first rector of the university.

The university comprises the Medical School of the military Medical Academy with one study program, and the Military Academy offering two study programs, in humanities and technical science.

The main goal of the University is to harmonize its academic and research potentials within the defense system, while contributing to the academic and scientific research community in Serbia by cooperation with other universities in Serbia.

The establishing of the University will create conditions for offering all three level of university studies, meaning the undergraduate, integrated undergraduate studies, master programs, specialist master tracks, and PhD tracks.

This will enable a significant rationalization of the personnel, that is, it will prevent the personnel from leaving thus saving significant funds which have so far been used to educate our people in other universities.

All study programs are accredited, with female and male cadets pursuing undergraduate studies at the Military Medical and Military Academy.

The university will be located at 1 Pavla Jurisica Sturma Street.
