The Company „Power Plants Nikola Tesla“ – Obrenovac, this year produced 11,5 billion Kwh of electricity and delivered to local market , the projected plans were increased for 9% more than planed. According to the TENT Deputy Manager, Mr.Djordji Biljanovski this year production of electricity is bigger for 10% in comparison with last year.

„It clearly demonstrates that demand for electricity in Serbia and region is bigger and that our power plants are faced with bigger production demand also“, stated Mr. Biljanovski. Considering the long term analysis of consumption trends and investments, modernization of existing facilities and dynamic of the overhauls on the units, existing capacity of power plants TENT is managing to provide continuous and safe electricity supply but not only for domestic consumers.

All this aspects are specially important, stated Mr.Biljanovski, due to the fact that beside the ongoing demand increase we have the situation that the summer consumption is about to be equaled with winter months demand. And in cases when the summer has so many hot days, like this year, and water inputs on the rivers are lower, the pressure on TENT is even bigger both from local markets and the region.

„We can’t allow ourselves not to be prepared. We have to provide continuity and safety of supply to domestic consumers. However during the economic and financial crisis that shakes the world we believe that is of big importance to use this opportunity and exit to foreign markets. That means that we should try to sell our surplus in electricity under significantly bigger prices and accordingly plan the surplus of our own production“, explained Mr. Biljanovski.

Only in july TENT produced 1,55 billion kwh of electricity. Such a big monthly quantity was produced despite the fact that two big units of total 930mw were in regular overhaul. Comparing the januar monthly production quantity of 1,96 kwh with all units, in july we could even go over that limits in case we had units on system.

Special attention of Mr.Biljanovski, deputy manager of biggest power generation facility in South East Europe, is focused on the power plant unit A6 which achieves important production results. Explaining that for modernization of the unit and increase of output power it was invested around 100 mill euro.

Mr.Biljanovski reminds that the increase of output power of A6 unit was first technical and engineering project of that kind in Serbia and that the projected power of A6 unit in Obrenovac was increased from 308 mw to currently 348 mw.

According to the Mr.Biljanovski, modernized unit 6 with invested 100 mil euro and with current production results with return the invested in five years, with bigger electricity prices.
