The Kosovo government has announced that it will assume control over northern Kosovo, where Pristina institutions are at present not in charge, "perhaps" even before Sept. 15, when a deal between KFOR and Serbian government representatives expires, the Aug. 22 issue of the Pristina daily Koha Ditore reported.

Kosovo Deputy Premier Hajredin Kuci said judges and prosecutors in northern Kosovo have to meet three criteria: to establish one judiciary system, to be appointed by Kosovo institutions and to be included in the system of the Republic of Kosovo.
