Serbian President Boris Tadic said on Oct. 5 that the greatest legacy of the Oct. 5, 2000 changes was the fact that democratic institutions had been established and strengthened, and that the biggest failure was
that the value system had not changed.
After the promotional flight of the first civilian airplane to land at the Morava Airport near Kraljevo, Tadic said that the authorities in Serbia would never again have to be changed on the streets, but only in elections.
He said he regretted that the global economic crisis had increased unemployment in Serbia, and that the task in the coming period will be to alleviate this problem.
Speaking about the importance of the Kraljevo airport, which will be used for civilian traffic as of next year, Tadic said that it will be extremely beneficial for attracting foreign investment and for the recovery of the economy of this part of Serbia.
