Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has opened the Day of Bulgarian Economy in Munich, calling on the Bavarian business to invest in the country in order Bulgaria to overcome a delay of 45 years.

Currently about 1500 Bavarian companies work in Bulgaria, as their investments in the country reach 1.5 billion euro. For the first 7 months of 2010, the trade between Bulgaria and Bavaria amounted to nearly 320 million euro.

According to Mr. Borissov, Bulgaria is a good place for investments, because of the favorable business climate and stable fiscal policy. Bulgaria’s expected joining the Schengen Area in 2011 will be an important green light for foreign investments, which the country needs. I count on the support of the Free State of Bavaria, Mr. Borissov added.

The Bulgarian delegation to Bavaria included the Bulgarian Minister of Energy, economy, and Tourism Traicho Traikov, who met with his Bavarian counterpart Martin Zeil.

After the meeting it was announced that Bulgaria aims to attract investment in the electromotive industry and the production of spare parts for electric cars, while Bavaria is interested in supplying vehicles for the Bulgarian administration at lower prices.
