Unless the recapitalization money, promised after the annexation of the BiH Elektroprivreda (EP) mine, is paid to the miners coming from several cities, they will go on a massive protest in Sarajevo, the BiH daily Dnevni Avaz reported .
The information on protest of the miners was confirmed by President of the RMU Zenica Miners’ Union Mehmed Oruc.
We can wait until Friday, but not longer than that. If there is no money on our accounts by 3 p.m. on Friday, we will take radical steps from next Monday. We will go on a peaceful strike and point to the fact that the miners can no more go on like this, Oruc told Dnevni Avaz.
He explained that the miners expected to receive KM 4.6 million in 2010, and a total of KM 12.6 million in two years. However, they got nothing this year.
Last summer, officials in BiH announced that KM 120 million through recapitalization will be invested into seven mines which are parts of the BiH EP concern.
