A wildfire that broke out on Sunday near the Bitola settlement of Bair and burnt an area of 200 hectares has been fully extinguished, authorities said Monday.

"Fire-fighting activities were launched on early Monday and the fire has been put out. It burnt pine tree forest on three hills in the vicinity of Bitola. The engagement of firefighters and mechanisation played a large part in successfully battling the flames," they said.

The municipal crisis headquarters urges the citizens to be vigilant and to cooperate in finding those who committed arson, because it is largely suspected that this weekend's wildfires, including those which engulfed the Pelister National Park, have been caused by individuals.
