Representatives of Serbian construction companies will meet with colleagues from Croatia in February to agree on which major infrastructure projects they will jointly participate in Libya, Algeria, Iran, Russia and former Soviet republics, Secretary of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Association of Construction, Building Material Industry and Housing Goran Rodic announced Tuesday.
“In the countries which once engaged the Yugoslav construction industry our engineers are still highly praised and sought to work together, particularly in Libya,” Rodic told Tanjug, adding that the meeting would be held in Belgrade between February 21 and 25.
He said that Serbia's and Croatia's construction industry would build housing, transport infrastructure, dams, ports, power and other types of facilities which had been constructed previously around the world by famous Yugoslav enterprises.
Rodic stated that Libya alone wanted to invest about USD 50 billion in housing and infrastructure development, while Algeria and Russia, along with other former Soviet republics, planned to invest about USD 100 billion each.
