Culture Minister Nebojsa Bradic visited the National Library on Thursday, where he said that the work should be completed on time.

The reconstruction is one of the most important projects in 2011, the year of literature and language, he noted, adding that he hopes he will be able to invite the public to use the library in a few months' time.

Completing the work and connecting the library with other libraries in Serbia and the world will allow the people to access their cultural heritage, but also to learn and benefit culture in Serbia.

The reconstruction of the library interior and the construction of some additional facilites is part of the Let's Build Together project by the Ministry for the National Investment Plan.

The cost of the work stands at nearly RSD 180 million, with around RSD 177 million coming from a European Investment Bank loan, while the library secured RSD 2.6 million.
