The construction industry reform will continue with amendments to the planning and construction law, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic said at the parliament on Wednesday.

The construction industry reform will continue with amendments to the planning and construction law, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic said at the parliament on Wednesday.

The work will still focus on planning, faster procedure for getting construction permits, private property located on land meant for construction and the legalization of some 790,000 buildings, the minister told the parliament.

The legalization will be simplified, with discounts of up to 99 percent and payment deadlines extending to 20 years, all in an effort to finally complete the process, he stressed.

Dulic called on all owners of illegal realties to take advantage of the discounts after the amendments are adopted. The discounts will be available by June 30, 2012.

It is wrong to think that the planning and construction law brought the construction industry to a halt, he noted, adding that the world economic crisis was the culprit.
