Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic met today with an IMF delegation and said that the precautionary arrangement, which does not mean that the funds will be actually drawn, is very important for Serbia because it confirms that our country has conducted credible economic policy.

At Cvetkovic’s meeting with the IMF delegation, led by IMF head Albert Jaeger, the participants looked at macroeconomic movements by the end of the year.
The Prime Minister underlined that salaries and pensions will be synchronised and raised in October, as envisaged by the law.
The meeting also concluded that in the period ahead it is important to strictly adhere to all fiscal rules, implement savings measures at all levels of government and continue to implement reforms with the aim of improving the investment climate.
The IMF delegation will hold talks with representatives from the Ministry of Finance regarding the budget revision scheduled for September. New frameworks for the 2012 budget will also be determined.
