The space capsule Soyuz carrying two American astronauts and one Russian cosmonaut returned to Earth Friday morning from International Space Station and landed successfully in Kazakhstan.
As Russian mission control reported, the spacecraft containing commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and NASA’s astronauts Shannon Walker and Douglas Wheelock landed as planned, the Reuters Agency reported.
“We have a landing,” was the message that flashed the flight monitor screens at the Russian mission control station, near Moscow. Wheelock carried out a banner which read “Hi, Mom!”
The astronauts were examined by doctors after the landing, and all three of them feel fine.
Their mission, which cost USD 100 billion, was supported by 16 countries.
