"To speak the truth is the new political philosophy that doesn't fit in the old political matrix," VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski stressed addressing 617 delegates and numerous guests and the congress. "It turned out to be the right policy," he added.
"My philosophy is to work hard from day one since assuming office, not only six month prior to elections. Honorable and responsible working - this is our strength," the party leader said urging VMRO-DPMNE to remain consistent to its goals.
He underlined that the foundation of party's success lied in the fact that election victories had been won due to a lot of hard work and dedication, continuous contact with the people, zero tolerance towards corruption and respect towards its own people.
"Let's stay the way we were, respecting everyone. Respect instead of arrogance - this is what makes us different from our predecessors," Gruevski said.
Referring to the five election victories of VMRO-DPMNE, he stated that "if elections were held tomorrow, most definitely the party will score its sixth election victory."
"These victories have broken all records, as clean as a tear. We do not need forged victories; they bring mishaps and great defeats," said Gruevski adding that VMRO-DPMNE was seeking early polls, while SDSM "fights to delay snap elections."
A verification commission, which was elected at the beginning of the congress, determined that 617 out of 650 delegated were in attendance.
