The info-fliers, containing useful information related to traffic and other legislation, are printed in eight foreign languages and will be distributed at every border crossing.

Minister of the Interior Gordana Jankuloska, accompanied by representatives of the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety, promoted Thursday info-fliers intended for tourists coming or transiting through Macedonia at the Tabanovce northern border crossing.

The info-fliers, containing useful information related to traffic and other legislation, are printed in eight foreign languages and will be distributed at every border crossing.

"The campaign launched at the start of the summer season aims at informing passengers on traffic rules applied in Macedonia, paying of fines unless a misdemeanour is made. Fliers also contain useful information such as addresses and contacts of diplomatic offices in order their stay in Macedonia to be as pleasant as possible. In the past, oftentimes due to lack of information, divers passing through the country had to deal with unpleasant situations," Jankuloska stated.

The minister during her visit to the border crossing was briefed on the number of passengers who have entered the state in the past six months and how long passengers had to wait to enter Macedonia.

Speaking about the measures aimed at curbing the number of asylum seekers, Jankuloska stressed the objective was not only to reduce the number, but also to eradicate it.

"We have analysed the situation and reviewed the measures, now we are pursuing our activities not only to curb the phenomenon, but also to eliminate it completely, the minister stressed.
