Prime Minister Sali Berisha ensured today that the government will make the utmost for electricity supply of the population, irrespective of the price, while adhering to its constant principle that electricity shortage is the highest price.

Prime Minister Sali Berisha ensured today that the government will make the utmost for electricity supply of the population, irrespective of the price, while adhering to its constant principle that electricity shortage is the highest price.

“It has been a hard time for the energy system, said the prime minister. But, although these have been the most difficult months in the country history, still the electricity supply is not cut even for a single minute because of shortage, but it has been interrupted only because of technical problems.”

Speaking on the energy situation during the meeting of the government, the prime minister said that the situation remains unchanging on Drino Cascade which is in its lowest levels while we “shall continue to buy energy”.

“We are ready to make every necessary cut in the budget so that there is no energy shortage as electricity can compare to bread, water and medicaments,” said the prime minister.

In response to claims of those he called “Cassandra people who forecast a three-fold crisis: snow, energy and flooding disaster”, said the prime minister, “under no circumstances it’s good to cry evil or pride oneself on misfortune”. The prime minister pledged that the government has other plans and is always ready to cope with emergencies. “The government has confirmed in crystal clear way it’s well-prepared to cope with emergencies and it has already faced serious emergency situations. We remain well-prepared for a rapid reaction to any such situation”.
