In an interview for the Friday issue of the daily Politika after returning from the two-day talks between delegations of Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels, Stefanovic said that Pristina's frequent use of terminology and definitions related to Kosovo's status has not caused a reaction or unsettled Serbia's team.
"Agreement is possible and I think we are close to a solution for most of the issues we discussed. Sometimes it seems that a little more effort is needed. We believe in the success of the dialogue and have presented several clear, creative solutions for every issue. We will continue to do so, and avoid getting distracted by the noise that sometimes surrounds the talks," he stressed.
"There is a constructive working atmosphere... we told the other side at the very beginning about our stance onKosovo's status and I think that was enough and clear," Stefanovic stressed. He pointed out that "the differences regarding Kosovo's status are clear and evident, but that this should not be an obstacle to successful dialogue and the solutions offered."
"We understood this very well and were extremely well prepared. We expect that Pristina will also continue with a creative and flexible approach, even though there are obviously attempts to limit their maneuvering room. I hope that does not happen," Stefanovic said.
Stefanovic also considers it a success there was open discussion after so many years, and that the Serbian team was given a chance to solve a series of open issues without abandoning its national interests and the state's position on Kosovo.
