The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will stage a rally in Belgrade on April 16 requesting early parliamentary elections by the end of November, and the leaders of this opposition party expect that the gathering will comprise about one hundred thousand citizens.
SNS Deputy President Aleksandar Vucic stated at a press conference that the SNS will not give up on the rally regardless if by then the authorities respond to their request for early parliamentary elections.
When asked what will happen if the SNS gets a response from the ruling coalition in the meantime, Vucic said that the rally will definitely be held, and that the public will later be informed about everything.
According to him, the reasons for the rally are, among others, the fact that there are one and a half million unemployed people in Serbia, that the most vulnerable are the young, and that from 2000 to 2010, there were four times more young and educated people who left Serbia than before 2000.
According to him, the SNS has not yet got any answer from the Democratic Party (DS) regarding its request for early parliamentary elections.
