Magnohrom plant in Kraljevo resumes production

Chairman of the Magnohrom management board Djordje Kosanovic noted that 95 per cent of the plant's sinter magnesite production would be exported and added that the Serbian government would invest approximately EUR 1.4 million in the opening of magnesite mine on Zlatibor.
A delegation of the Serbian government, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Verica Kalanovic, visited Magnohrom factory in Kraljevo, central Serbia, where production of refractory material using rotary kilns has been resumed after four years, on which occasion competent bodies of the Kraljevo train car factory announced that around 200 train cars will be manufactured for the needs of Republika Srpska (RS).
“Magnohrom's rotary kiln for sintering of magnesite is operative again,” Kalanovic pointed out after visiting the factory together with Minister of Economy Nebojsa Ciric, Director of the Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) Bozidar Laganin and former minister of economy Mladjan Dinkic who was invited by the company's management.
Kalanovic pointed out that the Ministry of Economy was on the right track when it decided to invest in the revitalisation of Magnohrom and magnesite mines on Zlatibor and Gornji Milanovac and open new jobs.
Minister Ciric said that the agreement signed last week between the governments of Serbia and RS would enable the Kraljevo train car factory to launch production and delivery of around 200 train cars to RS.
