Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic has said for the German national radio broadcaster Deutschlandradio that Belgrade would not accept the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo but a special solution model could be reached with joint efforts.

Djelic said that that the problem with administrative crossings in the north of the province could be solved in the near future, the only thing being that it would require help from the EU.

“We need Europe for that, we can work through dialogue. Regretably, Pristina sent special police to the administrative line. That was counterproductive. We can solve everything through dialogue, together with Germany and the United Nations. There is no other way for peace and future in the Balkans,” Djelic said.

The deputy prime minister for European integration said a new model of solution for the Kosovo issue was necessary.

"There is no perfect model, but we can find a special model for Kosovo and Serbia. I am sure we can find one,” Djelic said, adding that Serbia will not recognize Kosovo in its current administrative borders.

“It is impossible to accept the 2008 proclamation of independence, but we can certainly find a solution together,” Djelic said.

Djelic believes the coming visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Belgrade on August 23 is very important.

“The visit is very important for us - for Serbia and for the Balkans,” said Djelic.

He said he expected Merkel would express support for Belgrade, adding that Serbia can greatly contribute to Germany and Europe as well.

“We can work together with Germany and Europe on improving security, economy and culture. It is especially important for Merkel to come and see for herself what we have done so far,” Djelic said.

Ethnic Barriers need to be overcome in order for something positive to happen. Serbs and Albanians should be at the administrative border in the north together with an agreement with each other. Also the Southern border with Albania should have Serbs and Alb's controlling it, Matter of fact all the borders of kosovo need to have both groups controlling the borders to prevent illegal immigration into the country. It is not good to have people from pakistan afghanistan nigeria and others to live in kosovo illegally. All illegals should be deported from Kosovo the Province of Serbia.
