A meeting between Serbian President Boris Tadic and presidents of four northern Kosovo municipalities concerning the crisis in that area began in Belgrade just before 6 p.m. on Sunday.
President of the Kosovska Mitrovica municipality Krstimir Pantic, head of the Zubin Potok municipality Branko Ninic, Leposavic President Slavisa Ristic, head of Zvecan Dragisa Milovic, chief of the Kosovska Mitrovica district Radenko Nedeljkovic, presidents of the four municipal assemblies, head of the Belgrade team for the talks with Pristina Borislav Stefanovic and Serbia's Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic are attending the meeting.
The Saturday meeting between the four municipal presidents and representatives of KFOR and EULEX yielded no results, with the international representatives demanding unconditional freedom of movement.
Milovic said after the meeting that the freedom of movement issue should be decided at a higher level, in Belgrade.
Serbs in Kosovo expect Tadic to support them in their view that Kosovo police and customs officers should not be stationed at crossings in northern Kosovo.
Tadic announced Serbia's view two days ago, stating that KFOR should be allowed freedom of movement to supply their troops, and that EULEX should be given the same treatment if they do not transport Kosovo police and customs officers to administrative checkpoints.
The current crisis was started after a unilateral act by the authorities in Pristina on July 25, when they attempted to take over the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings by force, which led to Serbs setting up roadblocks on routes that lead to the crossings.
