Cvetkovic said that with Panasonic's arrival Serbia has built up its reputation and attractiveness for investments and joined the list of countries producing high technology.
The Serbian government will continue to support investments such as Panasonic's, he said.
The prime minister added that, after the obtaining of the EU candidate status, investors' interest in Serbia has significantly increased.
After visiting Panasonic's production plant, which employs 1000 workers and should employ even more, Cvetkovic said that the investment is worth EUR 13 million and that it brought a new industrial culture to Svilajnac.
He pointed out that this is not just another arrival of a global company in Serbia which will build up the country's reputation, and added that Panasonic will make the country a manufacturer of highly sophisticated high-tech products.
Cvetkovic also visited the free customs zone in Svilajnac, formed by the government, where the Panasonic company is situated.
He also toured the works on the Natural History Center, which is being built in Svilajnac and which will have a research park.
According to Cvetkovic, the center will have a great influence not only on the citizens of Svilajnac but also on the development of tourism in that area.
