Turkey's Star newspaper notes that Barack Obama and Recep Tayyip Erdogan are previous recipients of the Crans Montana Forum's Prix de la Fondation, AzerTAj reports.
President Ilham Aliyev said in his address to the ceremony at La Plaza hotel in Brussels that cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union is developing in all areas, in addition to the energy sector, Star reports.
Beyaz Qazete reported about the meeting and joint press conference between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek.
The article reports that the Azerbaijani president’s meetings with EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy in Brussels were fruitful.
Reports of official news agencies Cihan and Anatolia also highlighted meetings between the Azerbaijani president and leaders of the European Union and European Parliament, as well as with heads of state and government.
The reports say that at a joint press conference with European Commission Chairman José Manuel Barroso, Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of solving the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and called for an end to the occupation of Azerbaijan’s lands.
