Fire on 'Air Explore' aircraft landing on Kos, passengers safe

An aircraft of the Slovakian airline Air Explore caught fire in one engine shortly after landing in Kos airport on Saturday morning after a flight from Verona in Italy. All 170 passengers on board were safely evacuated without injuries.
An aircraft of the Slovakian airline Air Explore caught fire in one engine shortly after landing in Kos airport on Saturday morning after a flight from Verona in Italy. All 170 passengers on board were safely evacuated without injuries.
The fire broke out as the aircraft was taxiing down the runway in order to park and let the passengers off, for reasons as yet unknown.
The airport's Civil Aviation Authority was alerted and the police and fire department were immediately mobilised. Within the space of minutes, passengers were being let off the aircraft using emergency procedures and the special slides for evacuating passengers.
All the passengers are safe and in good health, while the fire was quickly put out.
