Carrefour sales in Romania dropped last year by 0.4% to 1.l3 billion euro, but they were influenced positively by the expansion of operations, according to the data published by the French group, Mediafax informs.

In the fourth quarter, sales went up by 0.2% to 327 million euro. In comparable terms, sales went down last year by 5% while the decline of the last quarter was of 4.3%.

Calculated at a constant exchange rate, the drop in sales was of 0.9% as a whole, but in the fourth quarter there was an increase of 0.9%.

The expansion of the commercial outlets network took place last year with a contribution of 4.1percentage points in the evolution of the Carrefour sales on the Romanian market, and during the last three months of 5.2 points.

The evolution of the exchange rate had a positive influence of 0.5% on sales at yearly level, but a negative impact of 0.6% during the fourth quarter.
