Russian Patriarch is on official visit to Bulgaria

This is the first official visit of Kirill as a patriarch to Bulgaria, but he has already been here as an ecclesiastic from the Moscow Patriarchy and Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations.

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill arrived on an official visit to Bulgaria.

It is a part of the series of so-called “peace visits”, made since his stepping to the patriarchal throne on 1 February 2009.

This is the first official visit of Kirill as a patriarch to Bulgaria, but he has already been here as an ecclesiastic from the Moscow Patriarchy and Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations.

On Saturday the guest will meet the president, premier and chair of parliament of this country and also with the management of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and Russian citizens.
