EULEX officers arrested early Tuesday in northern Kosovo one person suspected of involvement in organized crime and searched the person's home in Zubin Potok.

EULEX spokeswoman Irina Gudeljevic told Tanjug that the EULEX police arrested one person in northern Kosovo suspected of involvement in organized crime.

She specified that the arrest happened Tuesday morning on the road between Zubin Potok and northern Kosovska Mitrovica.

"The person was arrested in the course of an investigation into organized crime, money laundering, fuel smuggling, tax evasion and fraud related to the evasion of import customs duties and excise taxes," she specified.

The suspect's home in Zubin Potok was searched on a warrant issued by a pre-trial judge, and KFOR secured the entire operation, Gudeljevic added.

The arrest is part of an EULEX operation which started February 15 in Zubin Potok under the supervision of the EULEX prosecutor in the Kosovo Special Prosecutor's Office.
