Head of Kosovo's Zubin Potok municipality Slavisa Ristic said Wednesday the people would boycott new police station chiefs in northern Kosovo if the current ones were replaced, as announced earlier by police officials in Pristina.

Head of Kosovo's Zubin Potok municipality Slavisa Ristic said Wednesday the people would boycott new police station chiefs in northern Kosovo if the current ones were replaced, as announced earlier by police officials in Pristina.

When it comes to station chiefs in northern Kosovo, no imposed decision can be accepted, Ristic told Tanjug, adding that any replacements of station commanders in Kosovska Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zvecan and Zubin Potok would have to be agreed first with the representatives of the people in northern Kosovo.

According to Ristic, the rotation of station chiefs is unacceptable because it is an imposed decision.

The police have stated better results as the reason for the changes in northern Kosovo and announced a reorganization in other parts of the territory as well.

They have also announced that the commanders of the administrative crossings with central Serbia near Jarinje and Brnjak will also be replaced.

The northern Kosovo station chiefs have been ordered to turn over their post within a week. The order came from Police General Director Resad Maljici.
