The Serbian dinar is up 0.2 percent on Wednesday after a several-day sharp decline, and the official middle exchange rate stands at RSD 110.1866 for one euro, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has released in a statement.

The NBS sold EUR 80 million in the interbank foreign exchange market Monday to prevent a more significant drop of dinar, but the Serbian currency still hit a historic low on Tuesday, since the rate was at RSD 110.3562 per euro. This year, the dinar was strongest on January 11, when the exchange rate stood at RSD 103.6922 for one euro.

The NBS has sold a total of EUR 188.5 million this year to prevent excessive daily fluctuation in the exchange rate.

The dinar is down 4 percent on a monthly and 6.3 percent on an annual level.

The indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate stood at RSD 82.2227 on Tuesday, down 0.2 percent from Monday. The dinar weakened 1.8 percent against the dollar compared to one month ago and 8.8 percent compared to a year ago.
