Vojvodina Prime Minister Dr. Bojan Pajtic yesterday laid the cornerstone in Doroslovo to mark the commencement of work on the construction of a new biomass pellet plant in that village near Sombor.

Biomass Pellet Plant, which is being built by partners from Czech Republic and Vojvodina (BPI, Czech Republic), is a modern plant whose construction will cost EUR 12 million. The production of agripellets is based on the utilization of waste and unused materials from agricultural production. It is one of the cleanest and most profitable forms of renewable energy sources and one of the cleanest fuels.

The projected production capacity after the completion of the first phase is 300 tonnes a day or about 100,000 tonnes of pellets a year. Annual exports should reach the value of about EUR 9 million.

This plant will employ approximately 40 people from Doroslovo and neighboring places, while a big number of collaborators and suppliers will be hired to provide raw materials, that is, secondary products of agricultural production, waste and unused parts of plants.

According to the plan, the work on the construction of Biomass Pellet Plant, the plant for producing agripellets, should be finished in September 2012.
