Bulgaria to fight floods with BGN 67m loan

German bank KfW has given a BGN 67.227 million loan to Bulgaria to tackle floods. The loan has a 20-year repayment term and bears an interest rate of 3.08%.

German bank KfW has given a BGN 67.227 million loan to Bulgaria to tackle floods. The loan has a 20-year repayment term and bears an interest rate of 3.08%.

It will be supplemented by BGN 17.962 million in public money for a correction of Rusenski Lom river in the Danubian town of Rousse; to strengthen a 800-metre bank of the Danube in Silistra; and fortify landslide areas in Pomorie, on the southern Black Sea coast.

Over the past 12 years, KfW has provided in excess of EUR 320 million to Bulgaria.
