Bulgarians who travelled abroad in June trimmed spending by 34% year-on-year to EUR 76 million, according to the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB).

Bulgarians who travelled abroad in June trimmed spending by 34% year-on-year to EUR 76 million, according to the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB).

On the other hand, foreigners that visited Bulgaria in June spent EUR 314.5 million, which is approximately EUR 8 million lower from what they spent in the same month of last year.

The decline comes despite the larger number of foreign tourists in Bulgaria this year compared to last year.

Net tourism revenue in June 2010 amounted to EUR 238.5 million versus EUR 207.4 million a year earlier. Since January, Bulgaria has pocketed a net EUR 462 million.
