Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas ended on Aug. 16 a three-day visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina with a statement to the media, saying that his aim was to have Palestine recognized by the United Nations and to cooperate with all countries.

"The Palestinians do not want a conflict with anyone," said Abbas, adding that Palestine would, regardless of the vote of the U.N. Security Council -- of which Bosnia is a non-permanent member -- continue negotiations with Israel because there were a number of issues to be resolved.

Abbas underscored that he was satisfied with his Aug. 15 meeting with the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency members.
