Greek customs officers organised strikes three times in the course of the past month, which led to a complete block of cargo traffic.
Almost 80 per cent of trucks lining up on both sides of the border bear Macedonian licence plates.
Macedonian transport companies estimate their losses in the last quarter at EUR 2.5 million.
We have been facing a silent strike during the entire summer, Independent Unions and Transporters Association representative Biljana Muratovska said in an interview for the web portal SETimes and added that the Greeks simply do not want to work and are leaving only one lane for trucks open, although the number of trucks coming from Macedonia is huge.
