Head of the Office for Media Relations Milivoje Mihajlovic said that the Serbian government at its session today adopted a Decree which thoroughly organises the manner of executing police authorisations by the border police and the duties of persons crossing the state border.
Mihajlovic told a press conference held after the government session that apart from passports, border police officers will be able to request other documents proving the purpose of travel to EU Member States.
He explained that the border police will be able to require from passengers hotel booking confirmation, a voucher from a tourism organisation, a letter of guarantee or travel insurance.
If requested by the border police, passengers will have to provide proof that they have sufficient funds to stay abroad – money, credit cards, checks, he said.
