Belgrade to welcome Djokovic in front of National Assembly

World's number one tennis player, Serbia's Novak Djokovic, will arrive from London to Belgrade on Monday, and the welcoming ceremony will be organized at 8 o'clock in front of the National Assembly building.

World's number one tennis player, Serbia's Novak Djokovic, will arrive from London to Belgrade on Monday, and the welcoming ceremony will be organized at 8 o'clock in front of the National Assembly building.

On the first minute of Monday, July 4, Serbia's Novak Djokovic officially became world's number one tennis player.

Djokovic achieved this historic success by advancing to the finals of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament, defeating France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga by 3-1 in sets in the semifinals on Friday. Djokovic won his first Wimbledon title on Sunday, beating Spain's Rafael Nadal, also by 3-1.

Since the establishment of the ATP list in 1973, Djokovic is the 25th world's number one tennis player.

Djokovic tops the list with 13,285 points, ahead of Rafael Nadal (11,270) and Roger Federer (9,230).
