Parliament to hold extraordinary sitting on Wednesday

Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic scheduled the eighth extraordinary parliament sitting in 2011 for July 20, with eight bills, including that on energy, on the agenda of the sitting, the parliament stated in a release.

Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic scheduled the eighth extraordinary parliament sitting in 2011 for July 20, with eight bills, including that on energy, on the agenda of the sitting, the parliament stated in a release.

The agenda of the extraordinary sitting, which has been called at the request by 122 MPs, includes the bill of amendments to the laws on air traffic, healthcare and health insurance.

MPs will also discuss the amendments to the Law on Ratification of the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, as well as bills on ratification of the Agreement on defence cooperation signed between the government of Cyprus and Serbia and the Memorandum of understanding between the governments of Serbia and Kuwait with regard to defence cooperation.

The agenda also covers the ratification of the Agreement on readmission of illegal immigrants, signed by the Serbian government and Albanian Council of Ministers.
