Kosovo police have arrested 19 people in the vicinity of the eastern Kosovo city of Gnjilane on suspicion of human trafficking and prostitution.

Kosovo police have arrested 19 people in the vicinity of the eastern Kosovo city of Gnjilane on suspicion of human trafficking and prostitution.

The police also identified a trafficking victim whom they housed in a relevant institution.

The arrested group included six persons from Kosovo and also 13 women of Serb nationality.

The police operation has begun a few months ago.

The operation involves the participation of investigators of the Kosovo Anti-Trafficking Coordinator, with the support of the Regional Operational Support Unit, and is approved and supervised by the District Public Prosecutor's Office of Gnjilane.
