Germany and Serbia could in the future cooperate in the area of clean technologies and renewable energy sources, head of the German Bundestag delegation visiting the Serbian parliament Peter Weiss has stated.

Germany and Serbia could in the future cooperate in the area of clean technologies and renewable energy sources, head of the German Bundestag delegation visiting the Serbian parliament Peter Weiss has stated.

In the talks with the members of several Serbian parliament committees, Weiss said that Germany is still Serbia's biggest bilateral donor.Weiss assessed that meetings like this contribute to exchanging information and expanding the two countries' cooperation in all areas, the Serbian parliament's statement reads.

The Chairman of the Serbian parliament Committee on Trade and Tourism Dejan Nikolic thanked Germany on cooperation and financial aid provided for Serbia, particularly the local self-governments.Nikolic presented the guests with the work of the Serbian parliament, stressing that the adopted laws on trade, consumer and competition protection have contributed to organizing a stable market in Serbia.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture Sinisa Stamenkovic pointed out that the current composition of the Serbian parliament succeeded in establishing a new legal framework, particularly in the area of agriculture. Out of 700 adopted laws, 22 are basic laws on the development of agriculture in Serbia, Stamenkovic said.

Chairman of the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction Jovan Nesovic pointed to the Bundestag delegation that the adopted laws on planning, construction and public property are very important for future investments, inlcuding the foreign ones.

The German delegation also conferred with the members of the Committee on Development and International Economic Relations.
