Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and Chairman of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Council of Ministers Nikola Spiric agreed Friday more effort should be invested towards improving the two countries' relations, particularly in economy.

Spiric, who is attending a summit of the Central European Initiative, emphasized the importance of cooperation in the region in order to stabilize the situation and achieve everything necessary for EU membership.

There are some open issues, like borders and succession of the former Yugoslavia, he noted adding that they could be solved faster with a closer cooperation between Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

According to Djukic-Dejanovic, the relations between the two nations are improving. She especially stressed the significance of the cooperation between the parliaments, adding that she expected to visit Sarajevo soon.

Cooperation in the region is important for more efficient joint appearances at international fora, the two agreed, according to a statement from the parliament.
