Prime Minister Sali Berisha defined the local elections and tourism as the main priorities for 2011. During the governmental meeting, he said that they should start preparations for the tourism season, because the local government will be more focused on the electoral campaign.
“We have two main projects for this year. The local elections, for which we will give our maximal efforts in order to organize free and honest elections… The local elections block to a certain extend the preparations for the tourism season, because the political parties’ leadership will focus its attention on the elections. It is necessary that starting from this week, a specialized group, headed directly by the Prime Minister… each minister will focus its attention in a tourism area in the country,” said Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
Then the Prime Minister said that they will give priority to the infrastructure of tourism parks, by putting the emphasis on mountain tourism. He also talked about domestic violence, by expressing the will of his government to fight this phenomenon.
“It is necessary to inspect the issue in details and to firmly fight every discriminating practice. The family is my castle, and within my castle I can do whatever I want… never,” said Berisha.
