The sudden warming of the weather and heavy snowmelt caused problems in many places in Bulgaria. The district governor of Ruse ordered a special monitoring of the Yantra River in the Biala and Tsenovo municipalities.

The operational headquarters of the Fire Safety and Rescue Directorate General voiced to a BNR reporter that the situation in the districts of Haskovo, Vratsa, Plovdiv and Pazardzhik is heaviest.

No rivers or micro dams have overflowed, but the water’s level has risen in different ponds due to the snowmelt. Dikes should be built up where necessary, authorities recommend.
