Dacic proposes opening DEA office in Belgrade

Ivica Dacic met with US Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs William Brownfield and Director of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Michele Leonhart at the International Conference for Combating Drugs IDCE XXVIII, held in Cancun, Mexico.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic met with US Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs William Brownfield and Director of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Michele Leonhart at the International Conference for Combating Drugs IDCE XXVIII, held in Cancun, Mexico.
Dacic advocated stepping up their cooperation and proposed that a regional international conference be organised in Belgrade, dedicated to combating narcotics, as well that an office of the DEA be opened in Belgrade.
During the meeting they pointed out good coordination and efficient law enforcement in Serbia regarding uncovering international organised criminal groups engaged in drug trade.
With these meetings, Dacic concluded his visit to Mexico. The following DEA conference will be held next year in Indonesia.
