Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) should sign an agreement on the transfer of evidence in The Hague on July 1, Serbian Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric stated on Monday.

Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) should sign an agreement on the transfer of evidence in The Hague on July 1, Serbian Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric stated on Monday.

Serbia has so far signed such an agreement only with Croatia.

The agreement will eliminate parallel investigations which are currently being conducted in the cases of murder of Yugoslav People's Army soldiers in Sarajevo's Dobrovoljacka Street and in Tuzla column case.

In an interview for the Banja Luka-based daily Glas Srpska on Sunday, BiH Chief Prosecutor Milorad Barasin announced that Serbia and BiH would sign the document.

Great problems arose with duplication of cases and parallel investigations, Barasin said and pointed out that everyone in the region should understand that the truth needs to come to light, that facts and evidence need to be stated and that all individuals who committed war crimes need to be prosecuted. Such persons need to answer for their actions, regardless of their nationality, Barasin said.
