Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic on March 5 met with his Kazakhstani counterpart Kalmukhanbet Kasimov and Kazakhstani Emergency Situation Minister Vladimir Bozhko and discussed advancing cooperation in interior affairs and emergency situations.
A statement issued by Dacic's office said the officials had agreed to have agreements on police and emergency cooperation prepared in the coming period.
"The exchange of experience in the fight against radical extremists, particularly radical Islam, is useful. Also, bearing in mind that Kazakhstan, like Russia, takes part in many emergency situation operations in Europe, the signing of deals in that area will be very useful too," Dacic said.
He pointed out that drug trade was another common problem.
The Serbian minister conveyed thanks to his Kazakhstani collocutors for the country's "principled position" not to recognize Kosovo.
